2026 March - 11 articles

Cover Story: Carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites have become essential in aerospace, automotive, energy, and structural applications due to their exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and design flexibility. This work provides a comprehensive overview of CFRP composites, covering key processing routes, material architectures, and structure–property relationships that govern their performance. Emphasis is placed on manufacturing techniques, interfacial behavior, mechanical and thermal properties, and current challenges related to scalability, cost, and sustainability. By synthesizing recent advances and application-driven requirements, this work offers valuable insights for researchers and engineers seeking to engineer CFRP composite design and expand their use in next-generation lightweight and high-performance systems. View this paper
