Cover Story: Recent advances in the field of artificial neural networks, coupled with the increase in the performance of modern computers, have made it possible to apply artificial intelligence technologies in the field of medical image processing. In our opinion, one of the most important types of medical images are whole slide images (WSIs), as they are used to diagnose oncological diseases. In this paper, we collected a database of 1785 colon WSIs and trained convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to classify several types of colorectal lesions. This development can be used to speed up the work of histopathologists and improve the quality of diagnostics. View this paper
