Cover Story: Food allergy is a major public health problem in children and its prevalence has been increasing the past twenty years. The only treatment currently available is elimination diet. Adopting this type of approach does not take away the risk of accidental reactions due to the involuntary intake of the culprit food. For that reason, an “active” approach is urgently needed such as specific allergen immunotherapy. This article is an updated review of IgE‐mediated food allergies in pediatric populations.View this paper.
