AI-Driven Information Governance for Sustainable Decision Making and Innovation

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming how organizations generate, manage, and utilize information. AI is fundamentally transforming information practices, knowledge infrastructures, and organizational learning processes. The rapid advancement of technologies such as generative AI, large language models, and advanced analytics is fundamentally reshaping knowledge production, decision processes, and innovation ecosystems. At the same time, organizations are increasingly expected to pursue sustainable development goals while ensuring transparency, accountability, and responsible use of digital technologies.

In this evolving landscape, information governance has emerged as a critical foundation for effective decision making and technological innovation. AI-driven information systems enable organizations to process large-scale data, discover knowledge patterns, and support strategic decisions. However, these systems also introduce new challenges related to information quality, governance structures, ethical AI use, and sustainability outcomes.

This research topic aims to explore how AI-driven information governance frameworks can support sustainable decision making and technological innovation across business, finance, and organizational contexts. We welcome interdisciplinary contributions that investigate how AI technologies transform information practices, knowledge systems, and innovation processes, while also addressing governance, risk, and sustainability concerns.

The goal of this Topic is to bring together research from information science, business analytics, information systems, finance, and sustainability studies to better understand how AI-enabled information infrastructures shape organizational strategies, technological innovation, and responsible decision making.
