Soil Heavy Metal Pollution and Remediation

Research on soil heavy metal pollution and remediation aims not only to elucidate the migration and transformation mechanisms of contaminants at complex environmental interfaces—a cutting-edge scientific challenge—but also to address the critical national demand for improved soil environmental quality. Its core value lies in constructing green, low-carbon and precise remediation technology systems to effectively block the transfer of heavy metals into the food chain, thereby safeguarding ecological environments and human health. This endeavor holds irreplaceable strategic significance for advancing regional sustainable development.

This Special Issue gives priority to empirical studies, long-term field experiments, techno-economic analyses and case studies focusing on “Soil Heavy Metal Pollution and Remediation”. Cross-disciplinary research is highly encouraged, particularly studies integrating environmental science, geochemistry, biology, engineering and socio-economics/policy analysis.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process.
