Dear Colleagues,
The advancement of sustainable nanomaterials is a key issue in the development of environmentally responsible technologies. Green synthesis methods of nanoparticles have attracted considerable attention because they can minimize the use of hazardous chemicals, reduce energy consumption and utilize renewable biological resources such as plant extracts, microorganisms and biopolymers. These strategies not only follow the principles of green chemistry but also open new avenues for the synthesis of functional nanomaterials with enhanced physicochemical and biological characteristics.
Green-synthesized nanoparticles, particularly in environmental remediation and biomedical applications, show remarkable versatility over a wide range of applications. Their potential for the photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants, antimicrobial activity, targeted drug delivery and biosensing underpins their relevance in addressing global issues of pollution control, public health and sustainable development.
This Special Issue, titled “Green Synthesis and Environmental Applications of Novel Nanoparticles”, aims to gather high-quality research articles concerning innovative synthesis routes, characterization and diverse applications of nanoparticles produced by environmentally friendly methods. We are interested in both basic and applied research.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Biosynthesis of nanoparticles using plant extracts, microorganisms or other natural sources;
- Photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants in water;
- Drug delivery systems and anticancer, antifungal and antimicrobial activity based on nanoparticles;
- Environmental remediation applications such as water treatment and pollutant degradation;
- Biosensors, molecular diagnosis and other applications.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Processes is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
