Dear Colleagues,
The integration of advanced polymers into construction materials is driving a revolution in civil engineering, offering new solutions for sustainability, durability, and structural intelligence. This Special Issue, "Advanced Polymer-Based Cementitious Building Materials," aims to collect the latest research findings and technological advancements at the intersection of polymer science and construction engineering.
We invite researchers to submit original research articles and reviews that explore the synthesis, characterization, and application of polymer-based systems in the built environment. The scope of this issue is broad, covering everything from molecular design to structural application.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to: polymer-modified cementitious materials—performance enhancement of concrete, mortar, and binders (including UHPC); smart and functional systems—self-sensing, self-healing, thermal management, and responsive polymer coatings; green and sustainable building materials—solid waste recycling, bio-based polymers, and eco-friendly pavement materials; fiber-reinforced polymer composites—application of fibers, textiles, and FRP in structural strengthening and impact resistance; durability and microstructure—interface engineering, abrasion resistance, and long-term performance modeling.
This Special Issue seeks to highlight both experimental investigations and computational modeling efforts that utilize polymers to modify the properties and improve the performance of construction materials. Researchers and industry professionals are invited to submit their latest findings to foster the development of next-generation building techniques.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Polymers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
