Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to invite you to contribute to an upcoming special issue of Pharmaceuticals on "Innovative Drug Delivery and Mitochondrial-Targeted Therapies." As the editor, it is my honor to present this initiative, which aims to gather the latest and most promising research in a field with immense therapeutic potential. The core objective of this Special Issue is to highlight and disseminate novel drug formulations and delivery strategies specifically targeting mitochondria. We aim to explore how these innovations can positively impact various pathologies where mitochondrial dysfunction plays a crucial role in disease progression and therapeutic response.

Research in mitochondrial-targeted therapies is growing exponentially, offering new perspectives for treating neurodegenerative, cardiovascular, metabolic diseases, cancer, and many other conditions. This Special Issue will be an invaluable platform for showcasing advancements in innovative drug delivery systems for mitochondrial therapies, pharmacologically active molecules specifically targeting mitochondrial components, novel approaches to modulate mitochondrial function and restore cellular homeostasis, and preclinical and clinical studies demonstrating the efficacy and safety of these therapies.

We strongly encourage all researchers and working groups to submit their original articles and comprehensive reviews that align with the theme of this Special Issue. Your contributions will be crucial in enriching collective knowledge and accelerating the development of new therapeutic options.

We eagerly await your manuscripts and look forward to building a Special Issue that will become a key reference in the field of innovative drug delivery and mitochondrial-targeted therapies.

Sincerely,

Dr. José Antonio Jara Sandoval

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Pharmaceuticals is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2900 CHF (Swiss Francs).
