Advanced Analytical Tools for Characterization and Quality Control of Food, Drugs, and Natural Active Ingredients, 4th Edition
This special issue belongs to the section "Analytical Chemistry".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Ensuring the quality, authenticity, safety, and traceability of complex products requires analytical strategies capable of providing comprehensive and reliable information. This is particularly relevant for high-value matrices such as foods and beverages, pharmaceutical products, and naturally derived active ingredients, where chemical complexity and variability often make conventional analytical approaches insufficient. Continuous developments in analytical instrumentation, together with major progress in chemometrics and data processing, are opening new possibilities for addressing these challenges. Modern analytical platforms can generate large amounts of multidimensional data, while advanced data-analysis methods allow relevant chemical information to be extracted and translated into effective tools for product characterization and quality assessment.
This Special Issue,“Advanced Analytical Tools for Characterization and Quality Control of Food, Drugs, and Natural Active Ingredients, 4th Edition”, welcomes original research presenting innovative analytical and data-driven approaches for the characterization, authentication, classification, quality control, and traceability of food products, beverages, natural active ingredients, and pharmaceuticals. Contributions combining instrumental techniques with chemometric, multivariate, or other advanced data-analysis methodologies are particularly encouraged.
The Special Issue also welcomes review articles offering critical perspectives on recent developments, emerging methodologies, and future directions in this rapidly evolving research area.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the Special Issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Molecules is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
