Combatting Zoonotic Bacterial Infections
This special issue belongs to the section "Veterinary Microbiology".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Zoonoses are diseases transmitted between animals and human beings through contact, ingestion, inhalation, fomites, and biological vectors. Bacterial pathogens are often zoonotic agents. Pets, livestock, wildlife, and exotic animals can be a source of zoonotic bacteria for humans. Many bacterial infections can be aggravated through the increasing problem of antimicrobial resistance. Therefore, the study of new approaches for preventing and combatting these microorganisms is equally pivotal from a One Health perspective.
This Special Issue aims to present recent researches about new insights into strategies for prophylaxis and treatment of bacterial zoonoses. We welcome submissions of original researches, communications, and review articles.
