Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Functional surface has always been an important issue in various fields such as the military, industry, agriculture, the environment, etc. The proposed Special Issue on “Micro/Nano-Structured Material Surfaces and Their Functional Coatings” explores the latest science and technology advancements in functional surfaces/structures/materials/coatings, which involve normal/abnormal processing or specific physical chemistry methods from microscopic to macroscopic scales. The scope of this Issue includes, but is not limited to bioinspired functional surface, micro/nano functional structures, characterization/analysis of micro–nano structured surfaces, state-of-the-art microfluidics for fluids release, etc. By collecting the cutting-edge research and technologies, we aim to promote the understanding of innovative chemical/physical-based strategies in characterizing and fabricating functional materials/surfaces.
This Special Issue will provide a platform to present a comprehensive view of the current pioneering research in the fields of materials, nanoscience, and applied physical chemistry, which will attract various scientists and engineers to exchange ideas, share knowledge, and collaborate opportunities on advancing functional interfaces.

Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Materials is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
