Chronic Kidney Disease: Early Detection, Mechanisms, and Therapeutic Implications

Dear Colleagues, 

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is an important and common noncommunicable condition globally. CKD is defined and staged according to measures of kidney function that allow for a degree of risk stratification using commonly available markers. The early detection of those at risk of developing CKD is necessary as the number of patients is increasing steadily worldwide. In this Special Issue, we welcome original papers and review articles focusing on the early detection of chronic kidney disease, e.g., development of novel biomarkers. In addition, manuscripts investigating the underlying mechanisms of CKD and potential novel therapeutic implications are also invited.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Journal of Personalized Medicine is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
