JPM 2024 Travel Award
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that the Journal of Personalized Medicine (JPM) will be granting the Travel Award to two junior scientists. The applications will be assessed by an Evaluation Committee consisting of senior scholars from the JPM Editorial Board.
This award provides financial support for the winners to attend an international conference in the field of personalized medicine to be held in 2024, in order to hold a presentation, present a poster, or both.
Candidate Requirements:
– Postdoctoral fellows or PhD students.
– Plans to attend an international conference in 2024 (oral presentation or poster).
Required Application Documents:
– Information of the conference the applicant is planning to attend and the abstract that will be submitted.
– Curriculum vitae and list of publications.
– Justification letter describing the focus of the research (max. 800 words).
– Letter of recommendation from the supervisor, research director, or department head, which also confirms the applicant’s status as a postdoctoral fellow/PhD student.
The winners (two awardees) will each be awarded CHF 800 and a certificate.
Please submit your applications for the JPM 2024 Travel Award online by 31 January 2024. Prizes will be awarded at the end of March 2024 and announced on the JPM website.

JPM 2023 Best PhD Thesis Award
Dear Colleagues,
The journal JPM is inviting applications for the 2023 Best PhD thesis award. This prize will be awarded to a PhD student or recently qualified PhD student who has produced a highly anticipated thesis with great academic potential. The applications will be assessed by an evaluation committee led by Prof. Dr. David Alan Rizzieri.
Eligibility and Requirements:
– The candidate must be a PhD student or recently qualified PhD student who has produced a highly anticipated thesis with great academic potential;
– The PhD thesis must be their original work;
– The PhD thesis must be defended in 2023.
Required Application Documents:
– An executive summary of the PhD thesis in English of around 3000 words;
– A letter from the PhD supervisor recommending the candidate for consideration for this award;
– The candidate’s CV, including a list of publications connected with the thesis;
– An electronic copy of the PhD thesis;
– A scanned copy of the PhD diploma (or certificate of proof of study at a school or research institute as a PhD student who will be going on to graduate or participate in graduation thesis defenses).
Selection Criteria:
– Quality of resume and publications;
– Relevance of the candidate and research description;
– Novelty of the candidate’s PhD thesis;
– Strength of the recommendation letter;
– Anticipated academic potential;
– Originality and impact of the research.
Prizes:
– Bonus (CHF 800);
– Certificate;
– Offer to publish one paper free of charge in JPM after peer review before the end of 2024.
The application deadline is 29 February 2024. The winner will be announced on the JPM website by the end of May 2024.

JPM 2023 Young Investigator Award
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that the Journal of Personalized Medicine (JPM) is now inviting nominations for the JPM 2023 Young Investigator Award. This prize will be given to two young investigators in recognition of their excellence in the field of personalized medicine. All nominations will be assessed by an Award Evaluation Committee led by the Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. David Alan Rizzieri.
The Prize:
– CHF 1000 for each winner;
– Option to publish one paper free of charge in the Journal of Personalized Medicine after peer review before the end of 2024;
– An electronic certificate.
Eligibility and Requirements:
– Must have received their PhD no more than 10 years prior to 31 January 2024;
– Must have produced ground-breaking research and made a significant contribution to the advancement of personalized medicine;
– Candidates must be nominated by senior scientists.

– Detailed curriculum vitae, including an updated publication list and a list of the researcher’s own research grants;
– Scanned copy of doctorate certificate;

Dr. Anda Mihaela Naciu is a Consultant Endocrinologist at the Unit of Metabolic Bone and Thyroid Disorders, Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico (Via Alvaro del Portillo 200, 00128 Rome, Italy). Dr. Anda Mihaela Naciu’s research interests include osteoporosis, thyroid disorders, thyroid ultrasound, parathyroid disorders, calcium metabolism disorders, type 2 diabetes and cancer-related endocrine disorders. Dr. Naciu received her PhD in 2021 and has an outstanding publication record, comprising 32 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and 1 international patent. Dr. Anda Mihaela Naciu’s Scopus Scientific Citations number 341 and her Hirsch index is 10. She is clearly a rising star in the field of endocrine research and the clinical arena. Dr. Jerome Lechien is a Professor of Otolaryngology, Anatomy & Physiology, University of Mons, Mons, Belgium. Dr. Lechien’s research interests include many research fields, including COVID-19, chronic rhinosinusitis, reflux, personalized medicine, artificial intelligence, and head and neck cancer. Dr. Lechien received his PhD in 2017 and has an outstanding publication record, comprising 419 publications in peer-reviewed international journals. Dr. Jerome Lechien’s Scopus Scientific Citations number 6,655 and his Hirsch index is 36. He is clearly a rising star in the field of otolaryngology. She has co-authored around 50 papers published in international peer-reviewed journals. WINNER 2017 TRAVEL AWARD
On behalf of JPM, she will be awarded 800 Swiss Francs to attend the 17th World Congress of Psychiatry that will be held 8–12 October 2017 in Berlin, Germany. There, she will present her work on “Pharmacogenomic meta-analysis of antidepressant treatment response in GENDEP and STAR*D” as an oral presentation in the symposium entitled Pharmacogenomics of Mood Disorders.
JPM 2016 Travel Award
Claudia Ojeda-Granados is a third-year Ph.D. student in Molecular Biology in the Medicine Doctoral Program at the Universidad of Guadalajara, Mexico. She has been involved in both basic and clinical protocols regarding nutrigenetics and nutritional intervention therapy in patients with liver disease since 2013 and she has already co-authored more than ten publications in the field. On behalf of JPM, she will be awarded 800 Swiss Francs to attend the HGM2017 “From Genomics to Therapy” that will be held 5–7 February 2017 in Barcelona, Spain. There, she will present her work on “Nutritional Genomic Therapy as an Intervention Strategy in Patients with Obesity from West Mexico”.
