Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Parasitoid Hymenoptera represent one of the most diverse and ecologically important groups of insects, playing essential roles in terrestrial ecosystems. Despite their importance, significant gaps remain in our knowledge of their taxonomy, evolutionary relationships, diversity, and interactions with hosts and other organisms. Using integrative approaches in parasitoid Hymenoptera taxonomy provides new opportunities to resolve species boundaries, uncover cryptic diversity, and improve our understanding of parasitoid evolution and diversification, as well as their relationships with hosts.

This Special Issue aims to bring together recent research on the taxonomy, evolutionary biology, ecology, and trophic interactions of parasitoid Hymenoptera. We particularly welcome studies addressing integrative taxonomy, species discovery and delimitation, molecular systematics, phylogeny, host specificity and host shifts, host–parasitoid coevolution, trophic interactions and food webs, hyperparasitism, and parasitoid ecology and behaviour. Contributions exploring the implications of these topics for biological control and sustainable pest management are also encouraged. We welcome original research articles and reviews that contribute to a better understanding of the diversity, evolution, and ecological significance of parasitoid Hymenoptera.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process.
