State-of-the-Art Molecular Pharmacology in Thailand
This special issue belongs to the section "Molecular Pharmacology".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Molecular pharmacology is fundamentally transforming how we understand disease mechanisms and therapeutic interventions. By bridging the gap between fundamental molecular science and clinical application, researchers can now move towards targeted therapies and precision medicine. The integration of Thailand's rich biodiversity and history of traditional medicine with cutting-edge genomic and molecular techniques offers a unique landscape for discovering novel therapeutic agents. As health challenges such as tropical and viral infectious diseases, regional cancers and metabolic syndromes persist, understanding molecular pharmacology especially in regional genetics and local natural resources is of importance to both national health and global medical advancements.
In alignment with the scope of IJMS, this Special Issue aims to gather and showcase cutting-edge research that explores the underlying molecular mechanisms of drug actions and validates novel drug targets, disease pathways and pharmacogenomics, with a distinct focus on research originating from or relevant to Thailand.
In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Natural Product Pharmacology: Molecular mechanisms, target identification and signalling pathways of bioactive compounds derived from Thailand's biological diversity.
- Pharmacogenomics and Precision Medicine: Molecular studies on genetic variations within the Thai and Southeast Asian populations affecting drug metabolism, efficacy and toxicity.
- Molecular Targets in Endemic Diseases: Molecular pharmacology of novel therapeutics for highly prevalent regional conditions, such as cholangiocarcinoma, dengue, malaria and metabolic syndrome.
- Neuropharmacology: In vitro and molecular-level studies exploring new pharmacological compounds for neurodegenerative diseases relevant to Thailand's ageing population.
- Molecular Drug Discovery and Design: Computational biology, bioinformatics and in vitro molecular studies outlining the synthesis, target binding and biological evaluation of novel drug candidates.
I look forward to receiving your contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the Special Issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. International Journal of Molecular Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. There is an Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal. For details about the APC please see here. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
