Dear Colleagues,
Chronic pain is a complex and multifactorial condition that remains a clinical challenge worldwide. Increasing evidence indicates that persistent pain arises from dynamic molecular and cellular alterations involving neuronal, glial, immune, and vascular components. This Special Issue aims to gather high-quality original research and review articles that explore the molecular mechanisms and signaling pathways underlying chronic pain states, including inflammatory, neuropathic, cancer-related, and treatment-induced pain. Topics of interest include ion channels, receptors, intracellular signaling cascades, oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and epigenetic regulation, as well as interactions between peripheral and central nervous system cells. By integrating experimental, translational, and mechanistic approaches, this Special Issue seeks to advance our understanding of chronic pain pathophysiology and to identify novel molecular targets for more effective therapeutic strategies.
