Interactive, Mobile, Wearable and AI Technologies
This special issue belongs to the section "Artificial Intelligence".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue welcomes research on advanced methods for precision medicine that leverage interactive, mobile, wearable and/or AI technologies to advance diagnostics, prognostics, patient stratification, and deep phenotyping, as well as drug repurposing, variant–phenotype association studies, and pharmacogenomics. We particularly encourage submissions that integrate multimodal data—such as genomic and molecular profiles, medical imaging, electronic health records, medication histories, laboratory tests, and real-world health signals—to model disease onset, progression, treatment response, and adverse drug reactions.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Multimodal AI for early disease detection and risk prediction
- AI-driven clinical decision support and personalized treatment planning
- Digital biomarkers from mobile, wearable, and remote monitoring data
- Computational phenotyping and patient subtyping
- Drug–gene–disease network modeling and drug repurposing
- Predictive modeling of therapeutic response and toxicity
- Variant interpretation and genotype–phenotype mapping
- Real-world evidence and learning health systems
- Explainable and trustworthy AI for clinical translation
- AI-enabled biosensors and smart diagnostic devices
- Wearable, implantable, and point-of-care sensing platforms for precision medicine
- Edge AI and on-device intelligence for real-time health monitoring
- Hardware–software co-design for scalable clinical AI systems
- Federated and privacy-preserving AI on distributed medical devices
- Integrated sensing, computation, and actuation systems for closed-loop healthcare
Emphasis is placed on scalable, interpretable, and clinically relevant AI systems that enable translational impact in real-world healthcare settings.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Electronics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
