Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Gastric cancer (GC) poses a significant global health problem, being consistently one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths around the world. Its tendency to go unnoticed until it reaches advanced stages emphasizes the critical need for extensive research in this area. Factors like Helicobacter pylori infection and dietary choices play a role in its widespread occurrence. Moreover, in recent years, GC-associated genetic-hereditary syndromes have been better outlined. Despite improvements in diagnosis and advancements in cancer treatments, the persistently low survival rates associated with GC highlight the importance of a comprehensive approach that includes prevention, early detection, and targeted treatment.

The aim of this current Special Issue is to collect the most recent knowledge in diagnosis and therapy, with special regards to original research articles concerning novel biomarkers in oncological treatment and innovative techniques in surgery. Furthermore, advances in ancillary technique in pathology are welcome.
