Dear Colleagues,
Ear diseases encompass a broad spectrum of conditions affecting hearing and balance, ranging from common disorders such as otitis media and sensorineural hearing loss to more complex entities including cholesteatoma, vestibular disorders, and skull base pathologies. These conditions impose a significant and growing global health burden, underscoring the need for continued advancements in both diagnostic accuracy and therapeutic strategies.
Recent progress in imaging techniques, audiological assessment, and minimally invasive procedures—particularly endoscopic ear surgery—has substantially improved clinical outcomes. In parallel, emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) are beginning to complement traditional approaches. AI-driven tools have shown promise in areas including automated image analysis, audiogram interpretation, clinical decision support, and surgical training. Additionally, digital health solutions are enhancing patient care through remote monitoring, rehabilitation, and personalized hearing training programs.
This Special Issue, titled “Diagnosis and Management of Ear Diseases”, aims to provide a comprehensive platform for clinicians, surgeons, and researchers to share the latest developments across the full spectrum of otology and neurotology. We welcome original research, reviews, and clinical studies addressing diagnostic innovations and surgical and medical management, as well as translational and technological advancements—including, but not limited to, AI applications. By embracing multidisciplinary perspectives, this Issue seeks to advance clinical practice and improve patient-centered care.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Diagnostics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
