Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Orthopedic diseases—ranging from traumatic fractures and degenerative spinal disorders to osteoarthritis, hand and wrist injuries, and musculoskeletal tumors—represent one of the most prevalent and functionally debilitating categories of medical conditions worldwide. With an aging global population and increasing rates of sports-related and occupational injuries, the demand for accurate, timely diagnosis and effective, individualized management strategies has never been greater.
Recent advances in diagnostic imaging (including AI-assisted radiological analysis), minimally invasive surgical techniques, biomaterials, implant design, and regenerative medicine have substantially reshaped orthopedic practice. Nevertheless, significant gaps remain in translating these innovations into standardized clinical protocols with measurable improvements in patient outcomes.
This Special Issue, "Diagnosis and Management of Orthopedic Diseases", aims to consolidate current evidence and highlight emerging approaches across the full spectrum of orthopedic conditions. We invite contributions that bridge basic science and clinical application, with particular emphasis on spinal disorders, trauma and fracture care, osteoarthritis, and hand and wrist surgery.
In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following: diagnostic imaging and biomarkers, surgical techniques and outcomes, implant and biomaterial innovation, rehabilitation strategies, AI applications in orthopedics, and patient-reported outcome measures.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Diagnostics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
