Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The Special Issue of Diagnostics, titled “Recent Advances in Imaging in Diagnostics and Therapeutics for Wounds”, guest-edited by Dr. Thomas E. Serena, focuses on innovative diagnostic and imaging technologies aimed at improving the detection and management wounds with a high bacterial burden. It aims to highlight advances in molecular and cellular diagnostics, novel imaging techniques like fluorescence and perfusion imaging, and real-world clinical applications. Further, the Issue seeks to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and clinical practice by presenting tools that enhance the visualization of wound pathology beyond classic signs and symptoms of infection. Ultimately, it hopes to promote a multidisciplinary approach to wound care, integrating imaging and biomarkers to improve outcomes and support future innovations.
