Dear Colleagues,
Proteomics has become a central pillar of modern biomedical research, offering a direct view of the proteins that drive cellular functions, shape tissue identity, and underlie human health and disease. Recent advances in mass spectrometry, quantitative labeling strategies, and single-cell proteomics now allow researchers to measure thousands of proteins with unprecedented depth, precision, and spatial resolution. These technologies are transforming our ability to map signaling networks, characterize disease-specific protein signatures, and identify biomarkers for diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment response. At the same time, integrative approaches that combine proteomics with genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, and structural biology provide a more complete picture of biological systems in both normal and pathological states. This topic aims to highlight innovative proteomic methods, novel biological insights, and translational applications that bridge basic research and clinical practice. By bringing together contributions from diverse areas—including cancer, immunity, metabolism, neurobiology, and infectious disease—we seek to showcase how proteomics is reshaping our understanding of health and disease and paving the way for more precise and personalized medicine.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Cells is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
