2019 | The Spanish Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SEBBM) became affiliated to Cells. 2020 | Cells announced the first edition of the Outstanding Reviewer Award and Academic Conference Grants Award. The Nordic Autophagy Society (NAS) became affiliated to Cells. The Spanish Society of Hematology and Hemotherapy (SEHH) became affiliated to Cells. Cells established the following sections: -Cells of the Nervous System; -Cell Cycle; -Cellular Aging. Cells first virtual meeting “Cell-to-Cell Metabolic Cross-Talk in Physiology and Pathology” was held from 17 December 2020 to 17 January 2021. Cells announced the first edition of the Highly Cited Paper Award, Best Paper Award for Anniversary Special Issues, PhD Thesis Award, and Best Video Abstract Award. Cells established the following sections: -Cell and Gene Therapy; -Cellular Biophysics; -Cellular Metabolism; -Cell Methods; -Cell Microenvironment; -Cells of the Cardiovascular System; -Reproductive Cells and Development; -Tissues and Organs. Cell Cycle was renamed as Cell Proliferation and Division. The year 2021 marked the 10th anniversary of Cells. Cells received its 2020 Impact Factor (6.600), ranked 53/195 in "CELL BIOLOGY".
