Dear Colleagues,
Nanoparticles are emerging as powerful tools in plant in vitro culture, offering new opportunities to enhance regeneration efficiency, control contamination, and modulate plant developmental pathways. This Special Issue aims to explore the multifaceted roles of nanomaterials in plant tissue culture systems, including their application as elicitors of secondary metabolites, carriers for gene delivery, and regulators of morphogenesis, organogenesis, and somatic embryogenesis. Contributions addressing both beneficial and adverse effects—such as nanotoxicity, hormesis, and interactions with culture media components—are particularly welcome. This Special Issue also seeks to highlight advances in nano-enabled strategies for sustainable micropropagation, conservation of plant biodiversity, and improvement of high-value crops. By integrating insights from plant physiology, nanotechnology, and biotechnology, this collection will provide a comprehensive overview of current progress and future directions in nano-assisted plant in vitro systems, fostering innovation in both research and applied plant sciences.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Agronomy is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
