Dear Colleagues,
Crop production systems are facing increasing pressure to simultaneously improve yield performance, enhance quality and increase resource use efficiency while reducing environmental impacts under growing challenges from climate change and resource constraints. Traditional agronomic practices alone are often insufficient to meet these interconnected demands, highlighting the need for continuous innovation in crop production strategies and management approaches. This Special Issue aims to showcase recent advances in sustainable and efficient crop production. It emphasizes integrated approaches that enhance yield stability, product quality, system resilience and environmental sustainability through innovations in agronomic practices and crop management. The scope of this Special Issue includes, but is not limited to, soil and water management, optimized fertilization strategies, integrated pest and disease control, climate-resilient cropping systems and precision agriculture practices. In addition, emerging digital and intelligent technologies, such as remote sensing, data-driven decision support tools and smart farming applications, are also welcomed as enabling approaches to support more efficient and sustainable crop production. We welcome original research articles, reviews and case studies that provide innovative, scalable and practical solutions for improving crop yield, quality, resource use efficiency and environmental sustainability across global agricultural systems.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Agronomy is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
