Dairy Animal Nutrition and Milk Quality

Dear Colleagues,

Humans use a rich variety of dairy resources, including dairy not only from cows, but also camels, horses, yaks and buffalos, etc. Milk from different dairy animals has various physiological and nutritional characteristics, as well as special health functions that vary from individual to individual. However, the number of studies and publications in this field is limited, which constrains the utilization of valuable resources. The development of new molecular and omics technologies in biology will help elucidate the metabolic interactions between animals, milk composition, and human health, as well as improve the understanding of various milk resources that serve not only as a source of regular dietary nutrients but as a source of bioactive compounds with direct health benefits, as well.

Therefore, this Special Issue will publish papers on dairy animal nutrition and feeding and the physiological and nutritional characteristics of milk, as well as its bioactive compounds and their health benefits. The Special Issue welcomes high-quality interdisciplinary studies in dairy animal husbandry and milk production, in addition to accepting original research articles and reviews.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Agriculture is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
