Cover Story: This study systematically reviewed and analyzed outcomes of robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP), laparoscopic radical prostatectomy(LRP), and open radical prostatectomy (ORP) for prostate cancer. Key findings include the following: RARP had lower biochemical recurrence rates than ORP and LRP; fewer positive surgical margins versus ORP; similar continence rates but superior potency compared to ORP and LRP; and comparable blood loss as well as complication rates among all techniques. The operation time was longest for LRP. There was no difference in terms of operation time between RARP and ORP. Overall, RARP demonstrated better or equivalent oncologic, functional, and perioperative outcomes, suggesting its potential as a preferred approach. View this paper
