Dear Colleagues,
The increasing contamination of water resources by persistent organic pollutants and emerging contaminants demands efficient, sustainable, and scalable treatment technologies. Among the various remediation strategies, adsorption and advanced oxidation processes (AOPs)—including heterogeneous photocatalysis—have shown exceptional performance in degrading and removing complex pollutants such as pharmaceuticals, dyes, pesticides, and other emerging contaminants. This Special Issue aims to gather recent advances and novel approaches centered on Adsorption and Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) for environmental remediation.
We invite contributions focusing on the design, synthesis, and functional application of innovative catalytic and adsorbent materials (such as ceramics, metal oxides, bio-based materials, and carbon-based composites) specifically applied to these technologies. Submissions addressing material characterization, reaction/adsorption mechanisms, degradation pathways, kinetic and thermodynamic modeling, matrix effects, process optimization, and scalability are highly encouraged. Both original research articles and comprehensive reviews that advance the fundamental understanding and practical implementation of adsorption and oxidation systems for water and wastewater treatment are welcome.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Processes is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
