Advances in Electrical Drive Control Methodologies

This special issue belongs to the section “Automation Control Systems“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue is dedicated to presenting cutting-edge research and comprehensive reviews on intelligent and robust control solutions for modern electrical drive systems. The ongoing evolution of applications such as electric vehicles, rail transportations, aerospace, and advanced robotics demands unprecedented levels of efficiency, reliability, and dynamic performance from electrical drives. This drives the need for innovative control strategies that can handle system nonlinearities, parameter uncertainties, and demanding operational scenarios. This Special Issue aims to serve as a platform for disseminating novel ideas and significant advancements in modeling, control, and implementation, fostering the next generation of high-performance drive technologies.

This Special Issue on ‘Advances in Electrical Drive Control Methodologies’ seeks high-quality works focusing on advanced control and modulation strategies applied to electrical drives. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Advanced Control Strategies (e.g., Model Predictive Control, Sliding Mode Control, Deadbeat Control, Repetitive Control) for Power Electronics, Machines and Drives.
  • Sensorless Control Techniques for Power Electronics, Machines and Drives.
  • Intelligent and Learning-Based Control for Power Electronics, Machines and Drives.
  • Fault Diagnosis and Fault-Tolerant Control for Power Electronics, Machines and Drives.
  • Advanced Modulation Strategies for Power Electronics Converters.
  • Modeling and Stability Analysis of Drive Systems.
  • Smart Control Strategies for Electric Vehicle Drives.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Processes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
