Novel Polymer-Based Biomaterials in Contemporary Dentistry

Dear Colleagues,
Polymer-based biomaterials have become fundamental components of contemporary dentistry, supporting advances in tissue regeneration, implant therapy, restorative dentistry, orthodontics, oral surgery, prosthodontics, and digital manufacturing. Recent developments in material science, bioengineering, nanotechnology, additive manufacturing, and surface functionalization have resulted in highly biocompatible and bioactive polymeric materials with improved mechanical performance and clinical predictability. This Special Issue aims to present recent advances in the development, characterization, and clinical application of polymer-based biomaterials across all disciplines of modern dentistry. We particularly welcome translational research that bridges material science with preclinical and clinical applications. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Natural and synthetic polymeric biomaterials
- Biodegradable polymers for dental applications
- Polymer-based scaffolds and tissue engineering
- Hydrogels and injectable biomaterials
- Drug delivery systems
- Bioactive and smart polymers
- Surface modification and functionalization of polymeric materials

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Polymers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
