Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Continuous casting and solidification are core technological links in metallic material manufacturing, which directly determine the microstructure uniformity, defect level and comprehensive service performance of metal products. With the rapid development of high-performance metal materials, intelligent manufacturing and clean production, traditional casting and solidification technologies are constantly upgraded and innovated to solve bottlenecks such as component segregation, structural defects and low forming efficiency. This Special Issue entitled “Advances in Continuous Casting and Solidification of Metals” aims to collect innovative and original research achievements and high-quality review articles focusing on the latest progress in metal continuous casting and solidification fields. It focuses on revealing solidification mechanisms, optimizing casting processes and equipment, and exploring intelligent and green casting technologies. The research scope includes but is not limited to solidification microstructure evolution, casting defect control, multi-field coupling simulation, novel continuous casting technologies, mold fluxes, digital intelligent monitoring and process optimization for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Original research papers, communications and review articles from academia and industry are highly welcome. We sincerely look forward to your valuable contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Metals is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
