2011 Metals releases the inaugural issue and is initially published as a quarterly journal.
2014 Metals is accepted for indexing by the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE)—Web of Science.
2015 Metals receives its first Impact Factor of 0.883.
2016 Metals changes to a monthly publication schedule and receives its second Impact Factor of 1.574 (18/73 (Q1) in Metallurgy and Metallurgical Engineering).
Metals starts the Travel Awards project.
2017

Metals’ Impact Factor increases to 1.984 (13/74 (Q1) in the category Metallurgy and Metallurgical Engineering and 127/275 (Q2) in the category Materials Multidisciplinary)

Metals sponsors the following conferences:

2018 Metals publishes more than 1000 papers in total.
  • Metals holds two physical editorial board meetings at the TMS 2018 and the Thermec’ 2018, respectively.
  • Metals starts the Young Investigator Award project.
