Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Head and neck cancer presents an uncountable number of challenges for patients and practitioners. Prognosis remains poor, with many patients experiencing locoregional recurrence and distant metastases. Moreover, multimodality therapy often results in severe functional impairments and toxicities related to tumor extirpation, reconstruction, chemoradiotherapy, and immunotherapy. Despite this, diagnostic and treatment advances continue to improve oncologic and functional outcomes for this population. This Special Issue presents an opportunity to review the current landscape of head and neck cancer therapeutics, with a focus on diagnostic, surgical, and reconstructive improvements in the field. Topics of interest include the following: tumor biomarkers, radiomics, surgical margin analysis, artificial intelligence, and novel surgical and reconstructive techniques. We look forward to your contributions and advancing our collective knowledge in the diagnosis and multidisciplinary care of head and neck oncology.
