Infectious diseases continue to be a critical focus in clinical medicine, impacting patient care across diverse healthcare settings. This Special Issue, entitled "Recent Advances in the Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases: A Clinical Perspective", seeks to highlight recent developments in the diagnosis, prevention, and management of infectious diseases from a clinical standpoint.
This Special Issue emphasizes translational research and its application in clinical practice, offering insights that can improve patient outcomes and inform evidence-based healthcare strategies. The scope of this Special Issue includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:
- Epidemiology of Hospital-Acquired Infections (HAIs): Trends, risk factors, and strategies for prevention in clinical settings.
- Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs (ASPs): Clinical approaches to mitigating antimicrobial resistance and optimizing antibiotic use.
- Emerging Pathogens and Outbreak Preparedness: Clinical management of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, including diagnostic advancements and treatment innovations.
- Vaccine Impact on Clinical Outcomes: Assessment of vaccine effectiveness, strategies to improve coverage, and clinical implications of vaccine hesitancy.

This Special Issue aims to provide a platform for sharing research that bridges epidemiology and clinical practice, fostering collaboration among clinicians, researchers, and policymakers. By exploring these topics, we hope to advance clinical care strategies and address the evolving challenges associated with infectious diseases in modern medicine.
