Machine Learning Algorithms for Medical Image Processing

The field of medical image processing has been revolutionized by the advent of machine learning algorithms, which have significantly enhanced the accuracy, efficiency, and potential of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This Special Issue aims to showcase the latest advancements in the application of machine learning algorithms to medical image processing, providing a comprehensive overview of the current state-of-the-art techniques and their impact on healthcare.

This Special Issue encompasses a wide range of medical imaging modalities, including, but not limited to, X-ray, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and positron emission tomography (PET). It focuses on the development and implementation of machine learning algorithms, such as deep learning, convolutional neural networks (CNNs), recurrent neural networks (RNNs), and generative adversarial networks (GANs), for various tasks in medical image analysis.

This Special Issue welcomes original research articles, reviews, and case studies that address these topics, providing valuable insights into the challenges, methodologies, and potential applications of machine learning algorithms in medical image processing.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Algorithms is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
