Cover Story: Noncommunicable diseases remain the leading global cause of death, and such diseases are largely driven by preventable factors such as sedentary lifestyles and poor diets in developed nations. While efforts to promote healthier behaviors persist, achieving sustained lifestyle changes remains a significant challenge. Research suggests that gamification within health applications can effectively encourage behavioral modifications. By leveraging blockchain technology, we aim to enhance gamification’s impact through secure data management, verifiable incentives, and transparent reward systems. Smart contracts will automate processes and create reliable, decentralized platforms. This research will develop and evaluate a blockchain-based gamification platform designed to foster healthy habits. View this paper
