Cover Story: The demand for environmentally friendly products is increasing in the cosmetic and textile industries. Cork extracts have interesting properties, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial activities. This work investigates two different applications for NADES-based cork extracts: (i) incorporation into cosmetics and (ii) as textile dyeing agents. The results demonstrated that extracts improved the antioxidant performance of the tested formulations without compromising their toxicity. Cotton fabrics were efficiently dyed with the NADES-based cork extracts acquiring antioxidant and antibacterial abilities. The application of cork extracts as ingredients in cosmetics or as dyeing agents for textiles is a promising and green way to replace harmful ingredients. View this paper
