Cover Story: Microfluidics provides precision control of fluids, enabling automation of liquid handling systems to meet a wide variety of applications. Anisotropic ratchet conveyors are a type of microfluidic system that manipulates liquid droplets by converting an orthogonal vibration to directed motion with micropatterned surface features.
