PRRSV: Vaccinology and Immunology

Dear Colleagues,

Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) is an enveloped, positive-stranded RNA virus, which belongs to the order Nidovirales, family Arteriviridae, which is a major economically significant pathogen that has adversely impacted the global swine industry for almost 30 years. The immune features of PRRSV infection in the host include persistence viremia, a strong inhibition of innate cytokines, dysregulation of NK cell function, rapid induction of non-neutralizing antibodies, et al. Multiple vaccines have also been developed. However, the prevalence of PRRSV infection in swine herds is still high. Which way may be useful for preventing PRRSV infection?
