Sustainable Energy Systems and Economics: Pathways to a Low-Carbon Future

This special issue belongs to the section “Energy Sustainability“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The global energy development is gradually transitioning towards cleanliness and low-carbon, and low-carbon development will change our way of life and production, especially in energy utilization. This requires innovative development of low-carbon technologies to meet the requirements of low-carbon development. Meanwhile, the low-carbon model is not achieved overnight and requires gradual transformation within the existing energy system, ultimately meeting low-carbon goals through technological applications and energy structure transformation. This will require higher demands for low-carbon development paths.

Based on this, our magazine takes "xxx" as the theme, hoping to solicit research results from scholars related to global energy management and low-carbon development, generate thinking collisions, further enhance the level of low-carbon economic development, and better promote the global low-carbon transformation.

This special issue welcomes original research articles and reviews. The research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  1. Research on Low Carbon Development Path and Industrial Transformation for Global Industrial Chain
  2. Research on the Technological Evolution Path and Application Methods for Low Carbon Energy Technologies
  3. Economic feasibility study of low-carbon technology in power system considering terminal electricity price level
  4. Research on Optimization Technology for Low Carbon Energy System Management Considering the Integration of Electricity, Hydrogen, and Carbon
  5. Research on the Economy and Business Model of Long distance Transmission for Centralized New Energy Power Stations
  6. Research on Low Carbon Technology Innovation Investment and Sustainable Development Strategy for Energy Enterprises
  7. Research on the Development of New Energy Storage Low Carbon Security Management for Large scale New Energy Access
  8. Research on Optimization Method of Urban Carbon Emission Reduction Path Driven by Carbon Emission Space.

I/We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
