Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This topic fits squarely within the scope of "Advanced Sensing Technologies with SERS" by harnessing the technique's core advantages—ultra-high sensitivity and molecular fingerprint specificity—and applying them to solve contemporary analytical challenges. SERS transcends conventional sensing limits by enabling detection down to the single-molecule level, making it an ideal platform for advanced applications.
Specifically, this research addresses critical needs in fields such as biomedical diagnostics, environmental monitoring, and food safety analysis. By engineering novel plasmonic nanostructures and functional substrates, the work optimizes the electromagnetic and chemical enhancement mechanisms fundamental to advanced SERS. These tailored platforms enable the selective capture and identification of target molecules even within complex mixtures, thereby overcoming a major hurdle in real-world sensing scenarios.
Furthermore, this topic explores the integration of SERS with complementary technologies, such as microfluidics and portable spectroscopic systems. This convergence facilitates the development of point-of-care and in situ sensing devices, representing the frontier of the field. Such innovations transform SERS from a powerful laboratory tool into practical, automated solutions for immediate on-site analysis. Ultimately, this research contributes directly to advancing SERS as a versatile technology for addressing pressing challenges in analytical science.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
