Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The 6G-enabled Internet of Intelligence is a new generation of Internet technology that promises to revolutionize the way we interact with the world and each other. This technology will enable devices to communicate and interact with each other in real time, making the world smarter and more connected. The emergence of new technologies, such as blockchains, federated learning, cryptography, SDN, NFV, deep learning, digital twins, and IDS, have the potential to provide unprecedented levels of security for this new era of connected devices. Blockchain technology can allow for secure, decentralized transactions and data storage, providing enhanced privacy and protection against tampering or hacking. Federated learning is a type of machine learning that enables data to be shared across multiple devices while keeping the data secure, leading to improved algorithms and better overall performance. Cryptography is the science of secure communication and can play an important role in securing transactions and data transmission in the Internet of Intelligence. Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) will be crucial in ensuring the efficient and secure flow of data and transactions between devices. Deep learning, a type of artificial intelligence, can be instrumental in analyzing vast amounts of data and detecting potential security threats. Digital twins can provide real-time digital representations of physical devices, making it easier to detect and respond to potential security risks. Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) can play a critical role in detecting and responding to security breaches, providing real-time protection and peace of mind for users. The 6G-enabled Internet of Intelligence offers tremendous potential for improving our lives, but it is essential that the security of these systems is a top priority.

This Special Issue, entitled “Privacy and Security in 6G-Enabled Internet of Intelligence”, will address the adoption of these emerging technologies to ensure that this new era of connected devices is secure, reliable, and accessible for all.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Blockchains for 6G-enabled Internet of Intelligence;
  • Intrusion detection systems for 6G-enabled Internet of Intelligence;
  • Deep learning-based systems for 6G-enabled Internet of Intelligence;
  • Software Defined Networking-based systems for 6G-enabled Internet of Intelligence;
  • Network Functions Virtualization-based systems for 6G-enabled Internet of Intelligence;
  • Authentication protocols for 6G-enabled Internet of Intelligence;
  • Digital-twin-based systems for 6G-enabled Internet of Intelligence.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.

Benefits of Publishing in a Special Issue

  • Ease of navigation: Grouping papers by topic helps scholars navigate broad scope journals more efficiently.
  • Greater discoverability: Special Issues support the reach and impact of scientific research. Articles in Special Issues are more discoverable and cited more frequently.
  • Expansion of research network: Special Issues facilitate connections among authors, fostering scientific collaborations.
  • External promotion: Articles in Special Issues are often promoted through the journal's social media, increasing their visibility.
  • e-Book format: Special Issues with more than 10 articles can be published as dedicated e-books, ensuring wide and rapid dissemination.
