Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Dietary supplementation and physical training are two crucial components influencing health and wellness. As individuals increasingly seek to improve their fitness and overall well-being, the interplay between these factors has gained significant attention in scientific research. Dietary supplements, which include vitamins, minerals, herbs, and other substances, are often used to enhance nutritional intake and support exercise performance. Training, whether through resistance exercises, aerobic activities, or sports, plays a vital role in building strength, endurance, and cardiovascular health.
Research indicates that the right dietary supplementation can complement training regimens, leading to improved recovery, better muscle synthesis, and enhanced athletic performance. For instance, protein supplements can aid in muscle repair post-exercise, while omega-3 fatty acids have been linked to reduced inflammation. Additionally, certain micronutrients can support energy metabolism and cognitive function. However, the effectiveness of supplementation varies based on individual dietary needs, the type of training undertaken, and overall lifestyle choices.
This Special Issue seeks to understand how the combined effects of dietary supplementation and exercise can empower individuals to make informed decisions that promote their health, leading to optimal physical performance and well-being in daily life. This Special Issue welcomes the submission of manuscripts of original research, meta-analyses, or reviews of the scientific literature which target dietary supplements and/or training that benefit health.
