Sports Nutrition
Section Information
This Section of Nutrients aims to rapidly publish contributions on all aspects of sports nutrition. We encourage the submission of manuscripts that provide novel insights into the influence of diet, nutrition, ergogenic aids, and supplements on sports performance, metabolic recovery, immune function, muscle damage and repair, and physiological processes. Topics include, but are not limited to, the effects of varying nutritional practices and interventions on these exercise-related outcomes for all age groups:
- performance
- hydration and fluid needs
- body composition, weight control, energy balance and expenditure
- metabolism
- injury rates and recovery
- health
- eating behavior, appetite, and eating disorders
- cognition
- metabolic recovery
- immune function
- muscle damage and soreness
- muscle physiology
- genetic expression
- protein upregulation and downregulation
- metabolite shifts
- oxylipin generation
