Feature Papers in Pain Research
This special issue belongs to the section “Pain Research“.
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Topical Collection focuses on the mechanisms, assessment, and treatment of pain. In terms of mechanism research, it explores how pain signals are transmitted from the site of injury through the nervous system to the brain, involving complex interactions between neurons and various neurotransmitters. It also covers the influence of psychological factors such as emotions and cognition on pain perception. In the field of pain assessment, various methods and tools are employed to accurately measure the intensity, nature, and impact range of pain. Effective treatment strategies are developed for different types of pain, such as acute pain, chronic pain, and cancer pain, including pharmacological therapy, physical therapy, and neuromodulation techniques. Meanwhile, the translational application of pain research is emphasized, with efforts to transform basic research findings into clinical practice to improve pain treatment outcomes and enhance patients' quality of life.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page.
