Dear Colleagues,
Molecular imaging is rapidly redefining the landscape of precision medicine by enabling the noninvasive visualization and quantitative assessment of biological processes at the cellular and molecular levels within living systems. Unlike conventional anatomical imaging, molecular imaging provides critical insights into disease heterogeneity, target expression and dynamic therapeutic responses, thereby supporting patient-specific diagnostic and treatment strategies. These capabilities are increasingly essential for optimizing clinical decision-making and improving therapeutic efficacy in the era of personalized medicine.
Recent technological advancements in imaging modalities—including positron emission tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, optical imaging and hybrid platforms—have significantly enhanced the sensitivity and specificity of disease detection and monitoring. In parallel, the development of targeted imaging probes and radiotracers has enabled the identification of actionable molecular targets and the implementation of imaging-guided therapeutic interventions. The integration of molecular imaging with emerging treatment approaches, such as immunotherapy, targeted drug delivery and radiotheranostic strategies, offers unprecedented opportunities for real-time treatment planning, response assessment and adaptive therapy.
Nevertheless, significant challenges remain in translating imaging biomarkers into routine clinical workflows, standardizing multimodal imaging approaches and integrating imaging-derived data with molecular and clinical parameters for personalized patient management. This Special Issue aims to showcase recent innovations and translational advances in molecular imaging that facilitate individualized diagnosis, therapeutic guidance and outcome prediction.
We invite original research articles and comprehensive reviews focusing on novel imaging probes, multimodal imaging strategies, artificial intelligence–driven image analysis, imaging-guided therapy and biomarker-based treatment optimization. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among imaging scientists, clinicians, biomedical engineers and translational researchers, this Special Issue seeks to advance the application of molecular imaging in personalized diagnostic and therapeutic paradigms across diverse disease settings.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process.
