Falls and Frailty in Older People

This special issue belongs to the section “Geriatric Public Health“.

Special Issue Information

Worldwide, the older population is growing. Falls and frailty are important health issues that affect older adults. Falls lead to not only secondary health problems, but even to mortality. Frailty is associated with an increased risk of falls, incident disability, hospitalization, and death. There is a growing body of evidence enmeshing falls and frailty. Thus, to promote good health among older people and improve their lives, it is important to take action to prevent and better manage falls and frailty.

We invite you to contribute to this Special Issue. Both comprehensive reviews and original research articles are welcome. Topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Interventions for preventing and managing falls and frailty;
  • Epidemiological studies on falls and frailty;
  • Risk assessment of falls and frailty;
  • Care for the frail or fallen older adults;
  • Falls and frailty education for older individuals and their carers.
