10th Anniversary

The year 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of Geriatrics, a peer-reviewed open access journal on geriatric medicine published by MDPI. With an Impact Factor of 2.1 and a CiteScore of 3.4, the journal is covered in Scopus, ESCI (Web of Science), PubMed, PMC, and other databases. The journal has published more than 1000 papers from more than 4000 authors. More than 2000 reviewers have reviewed submissions to the journal at least once. We equally value the contributions made by our editors, authors, and reviewers.

In honor of the journal’s 10th anniversary, we are reflecting on our past accomplishments and embarking on an exciting new chapter. We invite you to join us in celebrating this milestone for our journal and to explore the content we have prepared for you below.

Journal History


The inaugural issue was released. Geriatrics was published as a quarterly journal.

Prof. Dr. Ralf Lobmann was appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of Geriatrics.



Geriatrics announced the first edition of the Travel Award.

Geriatrics was indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics), starting with Volume 2 (Issue 1).



Geriatrics was indexed in PubMed National Library of Medicine.

Geriatrics was indexed in Scopus (Elsevier), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1).

Geriatrics adopted a bimonthly publication schedule.

Geriatrics received its first Impact Factor (2.3).



The year 2026 marked the 10th anniversary of Geriatrics.
