Dear Colleagues,
Over its 20-year history, the Resources for Enhancing Alzheimer’s Caregivers Health (REACH) program has had a significant influence on the landscape of behavioral interventions for caregivers of persons with Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD).
REACH was one of the first large-scale, multi-site intervention studies addressing a diverse range of dementia caregivers in the U.S. Methodologically, REACH adopted several now-standard practices in caregiving research—a collaborative, team science approach, intervention manualization and standardization, multi-component intervention, a core set of outcome measures, centralized data management and analysis, and archived accessible datasets.
The impact of REACH has shaped the caregiving research agenda both in the US and internationally. However, despite its successes, there are ongoing challenges. The increasing demand for caregiving interventions outpaces available support and funding. Furthermore, although local and national policies have acknowledged the importance of caregivers, this has not always translated into resources and support.
For this Special Issue, we encourage submissions that provide insights into successes and ongoing challenges in the field of caregiving through the lens of REACH. We invite national and international articles that discuss various aspects of caregiving, even if only loosely connected to REACH. Contributions can cover a range of topics, including but not limited to policy, interventions, original research, implementation, or reviews.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Geriatrics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
