Cellular Biophysics

Cellular biophysics focuses on physical principles underlying cellular and molecular structure and function, and technical approaches to enable their understanding. This Section of Cells aims to publish findings that provide novel phenomena and/or conceptual and technical advances to the field. Relevant research topics include but are not limited to the following (in no specific order):

- Intracellular and intercellular signaling dynamics (including statistical models)

- Membrane transport (including intracellular)

- Cell mechanics (including membrane and cytoskeletal dynamics, plasticity)

- Molecular motors

- Bioelectricity (including ion channels, exchangers, and pumps)

- Genetic network theory

- Microscopy approaches (including high-resolution)

- Subcellular structures

- Proteomics

- Cellular junctions and networks

- Proteins (structure, folding, assembly, engineering)
